 A different city

So on a rainy Saturday I decided to visit Oxford. I thought I'd have a change from London, thinking about the fact that this country is full of interesting towns and cities. Oxford is historic and a seat of learning. I set off to see what I might find.

The weather limited things significantly so I'v decided to revisit in the Spring or Summer. I did manage to visit a very interesting example of modern architecture, The Blavatnick School of Government.

You would almost think this is out of place in an old city but this particular building is one that has a very surprising and awesome interior. Not unlike New York's Guggenheim Museum designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the interior of the building is on several curved levels with a central void. Such an interesting design is a delight to photographers with so many different viewpoints on so many levels. A couple of staircases also make for some very interesting abstracted spirals. The view looking up and the view looking down could not be more contrasting. a nice treat on a wet winter's day!
